The death metal draws viewers into the video because it is unique and weird. The filters added to the video also grasp the viewers attention creating focus on what is going on and what Greta is saying. Although most viewers aren’t paying attention directly to the message Greta is trying to speak about, the more people watch and listen to her, the more indirectly informed about climate change they will become. Why is a 17 year old girl from Sweden so forceful about climate change to begin with? What is driving her to be such an impactful activist for climate change? Greta seems to have such anger in her speech which made the editor of this video choose death metal as the audio enhancement. Videos such as this might give her more popularity and might make her an international sensation to watch, but does it actually help promote her message. Some might listen to her speech and take it as a joke knowing that it is in death metal.
