Deepfake?

Deepfakes are manipulated videos or other digital representations that are produced by artificial intelligence used to make fake images and sounds seem real. The term deepfake is a combination of the terms deep learning and fake. This technology can be fun to use on apps such as Snapchat and Instagram where you can put filters that either enhance the photo to make it look nicer or to add some entertaining background images. But deep fakes can also be used in a negative way. People can take real videos of people and reconstruct the voice and message the person in the video is talking about. This can be used to make people seem as if they are talking about something they never spoke about at all. In the presidential election, this can be used as sabotage to make the other candidates look bad in front of the public. As time goes on, there are going to be new laws put in place to regulate these videos and to prevent any privacy and false videos from being posted that could harm others lives.
